The United Snowmobile Alliance has received a plea for assistance from a relief volunteer helping residents displaced by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina. The situation is dire, with thousands of people living in tents and without power in areas north of Asheville, ranging from 2,750 ft elevation in Burnsville to 5,500 ft in Beech Mountain.
As temperatures are expected to drop significantly in January through March (lows of -2°F and highs of 6°F), relief organizations are urgently requesting winter-rated sleeping bags to protect residents from the extreme cold. However, due to the high cost of such sleeping bags, the volunteer suggests that used snowmobile suits could be a viable alternative.
Swannanoa, NC has already seen snow, just imagine living in tents and unheated shacks

…and y’all….this is nothing….just wait until January when the blizzards and ice hit…..
They’ll be almost a 0% chance of survival for some folks. 💔

North Carolina Hurricane Victims Seek Aid from Snowmobile Clubs for Winter Survival
The snowmobiling community is being asked to contribute adult and children sizes:
• Used snowmobile suits
• Cold-weather gloves
• Warm boots
• Zero-degree or colder-rated sleeping bags
These items would provide essential protection for the displaced residents during the harsh winter months.
Your assistance in this effort would be greatly appreciated.
